Green Juice for Weight Loss

green juiceYou will love the power of green juices. Start your day with one or have it for a snack in the afternoon to curb those afternoon munchies.

There are many reasons for drinking green juice. One good reason is chlorophyll. The benefit of having this compound in green juice is that it helps to detoxify the body. It can inhibit the absorption of environmental pollutants; something to think about if you live in a city.

As well chlorophyll helps transport oxygen throughout the body and will also help to balance the body’s pH level thereby reducing acidity. If you have an overly acidic body, you may find you have more fatigue as well as other health situations such as kidney stones and lower growth hormone level.

Why should you be concerned about lower growth hormone levels? Because this can be a contributor to more fat on the body as well as the loss of the lean muscle mass. So enjoy your green juices; your body will thank you.

Recipes:
Joe Cross has a great green juice called “Joe’s Mean Green Juice“: Just add 6 kale leaves, 1 cucumber, 2 celery stalks, 1 green apple, ½ lemon, and a small piece of ginger to your juicer. Enjoy!

Another favorite green juice is “Green Lemonade“. You will need 6-8 kale leaves, 3 handfuls of spinach, 1 green apple, 1 cucumber, 2 celery stalks, and 1 lemon. Just run through the juicer and enjoy this different lemonade!

If you want a sweeter green juice then try: “Pineapple Green Juice“: add 2 handfuls of spinach, 4 kale leaves, 1/4 fresh pineapple, small handful of mint leaves and 2 Granny Smith or other green apples.

This green juice has some interesting ingredients: “A Bit of Green“: 6 chard leaves, 1-2 cups of green grapes, ½ cucumber, 1 green apple and ½-1 inch piece of ginger.

Another great tasting green juice: “Mostly Green“: 2 handfuls of spinach, 4 kale leaves, 3-4 dandelion greens, 10 sprigs of parsley, 2 celery stalks, ½-1 lemon, 2 granny smith apples (or other green apples), 1 cup of green grapes

If you some really green juice, then try drinking wheat grass juice.  You can either get your own fresh wheat grass or stop buy a juice bar for some.

If you have tried drinking green juice and you find it somewhat bitter, you should probably add some sweetness with some fruit such as apples, pineapple or pears. As well adding other flavorful fruits or vegetables will go a long way to cutting down on the bitterness. Try adding mint, limes or lemons or a piece of ginger.

Spinach and kale can also be a bit heavy so try other leafy greens such as Romaine. Try different combinations of greens and fruits and you will find the right combination for your taste buds.

Once you start drinking green juices you will be able to know just when your body needs to be detox and how to do it with out headaches or issues. It can become a natural monthly thing for you to do keep your body healthy and your weight under control.
